Prague is somewhere that you have to go, especially in spring. I think we may have gone a bit to early as the leaves weren't yet growing back on the tree's, however that couldn't be helped as we were bound by the date of the marathon. I should imangine by mid-late may the place would be absolutely gorgeous.
I had heard a lot about Microsoft's new PhotoStory 3, so I decided to check it out and put together this Photo Story of cute little Alannah Berry.
We're back from our Midlands road trip. I have put some photos online. I will write an entry on here tomorrow with a bit of information on what we did. In the mean time enjoy the photos. (See mum, more than just buildings this time! ;) )
I have installed and configured some new software for displaying photo galleries on the web that makes it so much easier to put up photo's that both Sarah and I should have more patience to upload photos from now on.
So, you can now visit the new and improved photo gallery. I still have not migrated over all the old photo galleries, and have not yet migrated over any of the photo descriptions or commentary, but I will get them done soon. Also note that I have published the photo's from our New York City visit. Note that you can also comment on the photo's so if you have something to say about a particular photo please punch it in.
Sarah and I spent the day in London.
Out aim was to show Sarah where I work and to visit the Australia Shop. This place was cool. Upstairs there was standard touristy stuff, Australian flags, kangaroo toys and corny stuff like that. Downstairs however, is a goldmine of Australian food and beverage. Everything from VB to Kraft Peanut butter. From Allens Snakes Alive to Nappi-san. All the stuff an ex-pat aussie needs to stay sane!
Due to the astronomical prices we only came away with a few items.
1 x Pack Lifesavers (£0.75 or so)
1 x Small Pack Twisties (£1.20)
1 x Vita-weet original (about £2.50)
1 x Arnotts Pizza Shapes (about £2.50)
1 x Arnotts Tim Tams (£2.95)
All up it ended up being about £8.95. Yes, thats over $AUD 20.00 for those items!! It _is_ worth it though.
After visiting the Aussies we decided to visit the Yanks, and had lunch in TGI Fridays, also located in Covent Garden. There are a large amount of ex-pat stores, bars and restaurants around Covent Garden, but a quick walk through The Walkabout Inn and we knew we didn't want to have lunch there.
After this it was time to go to the Ideal Homes Show in the Earls Court Convention Center. The size of this convention center boggles the mind. No convention center in Australia comes close, except maybe the new unfinished one in Perth. Although the show contained everything to do with homes we were specifically looking for potential furniture now that our sofas are arriving tomorrow. Raft furniture really stood out from the crowd. They make tables, chairs, ottomans, and more all from reclaimed (ie, pre-used) timber, and they can provide a range of stained finishes to suit the color you need. Best of all, their prices are very reasonable compared to some of the extortionist prices charged by other companies.
I'll post some photocam pictures of the sofas when they arrive tomorrow.
over and out.
Something that we were hoping for even though we didn't expect!
Go to our moblog page for some low quality photo's taken with my webcam, or click here to download a video of the snow!
Yay! Time to go for a walk in the snow, if just I had my proper camera.
Here it is, a photo gallery of the new flat.
Sarah and I are heading down to Devon this afternoon. Hope everyone has a great Xmas and New Year. Don't expect any posts from me until at least the 29th.
Seeya!
I have put up a new photo gallery showing pictures of the room(s) that Sarah has been living in for the last 2 months. Pretty small stuff!
On another note, I have moved into our new flat. Theres been a lot of lifting, a lot of shifting, a lot of cleaning and a lot of mopping, but its finally beginning to look like a home. I will take some photos of the place soon and put them online. We have a fully stocked kitchen, but are still without much furniture, we went to IKEA to buy some stuff but they were sold out of /everything/ that we wanted to order (A sofa, bed and armchair), so we are going to have to wait for the new year before putting in any furniture.
Here are our movements over the xmas / new years break(s).
Now -> Wed 24 @ 4pm, At home
Thursday 25th -> Sunday 28th, Down south in Devon with my family for Xmas
Monday 29th -> Wednesday 31st, At Home
Thursday 1st -> Sunday 4th, Down south in Devon for my cousins (Victoria) Wedding.
I will put up a photo gallery of the new appartment before we leave.
